This rather splendid mix is now available as a free download unlike three sacchariferous syllabubs; which are quite frankly the sweet of choice for massively posh sods....

Yeah, I like the music and the video's cool but, Paul White and Danny Brown???? Pah!! Those aren't proper rap names!
How are you going to convince the world how bad and mean you are, get respect off the average rap fiend and attract members of the opposite sex when you're introducing yourself as DJ Paul White or MC Danny Brown?!
Why don't people call themselves cool, tough names like (insert obscure, vaguely humorous pseudonym here...) or (...and here...) or even (...just one more here so as not to overstate the point...)???
Rap music was so much better in the old days, grumble, moan, whinge... etc... etc... etc...

I am too lazy to have anything to say about this so here's a bit of blurb taken straight from the SoundCloud page...
"Inspired by songs from Mike James Kirkland's "Don't Sell Your Soul" anthology from his earlier days as part of "Mike And the Censations", the album title itself pays homage to the amazing source material that's been sampled, chopped and reconstructed while preserving the soul of the originals. The result are 10 songs that delve deep into Hip-hop's Golden Era with the boom-bap sound and soul samples combined to create an instant classic. Be on the look out for the album set to drop in late June 2013!"
2013 is shaping up to be a good year for rap, no?

Another day, another shameless plug for a friends business...isn't this really what blogging is all about? Bugger the original content, artsy photos and esoteric meanderings, simply post adverts for cool, underground stuff that no-one's heard of and fool the readers (hello Mum) into thinking that you're some kind of trend-setting, finger-on-the-pulse style-guru who's down with the kids and hip to the game daddio...
This jungle camo print t-shirt is the first release from the HEAVY GOODS Spring/Summer 2013 collection and you can purchase it HERE HERE HERE
That is all.

Apparently this has been available for a couple of months now and I am frankly disappointed in myself that something this hype (esp. the title track - phew!) slipped under my rap radar*...anyway, you can pick up your vinyl copy, complete with instrumentals, accapellas and fresh artwork RIGHT HERE , right after me...
* actually, I have never been equipped with a "rap radar", I have no idea what's going on musically or otherwise so I tend to just buy what I'm told to like everyone else. Sorry for the confusion...

KISTA is about to bless the world with his second vinyl release on SOUNDWEIGHT RECORDS entitled THE GRAND EMPORIUM E.P. which features TABLEEK, CAPPO, ELLIOT FRESH and STAN ILLA displaying their respective lyrical skills over KISTA's crunchy drums, bouncing basslines and...aah fuck it, I am utterly shite at writing music reviews and I can't be at all objective about this - did I mention my remix of LIVEWIRE FEEDBACK is the last track on side two? - but, YOU WILL LOVE THIS RECORD so I suggest that you give the soundcloud sampler a listen and then get yours HERE HERE HERE HERE HERE HERE HERE HERE HERE or be sad, lonely and friendless forever...it's your choice.
I should probably say something about the all new SOUNDWEIGHT / HEAVY GOODS t-shirts designed by the ball of misery, stress and lyrics that is DOCTOR ZOOTS....
...erm, mine's a medium.

My boy, LUKE HC sent me a link to this a couple of weeks ago but I slept on it til this morning...I really should pay more attention... anyway, you can learn from my laziness and download the whole EP HERE and if you like what you hear, go check them out at HOLDIN' COURT this Saturday...
Just a couple of my favourite tracks taken from the brand-flipping-new ASPECTS album, LEFT HAND PATH which features beats from the likes of DJ FORMAT and EVIL ED coupled with those love-'em-or-leave-'em-cider-i-up-boy West Country accents.
